The Royal Castle Wawel
The Royal Castle Wawel is the most frequently visited landmark in Krakow. Next to the Main Square with St. Mary's Church and the former Jewish quarter - Kazimierz, this place has been marked by history for centuries, closely tied to the royal dynasties of our country. The immense historical events that shaped the fate of our country, occurring on Wawel Hill, are an additional reason why it is worth visiting this exceptional place.

Wawel is a complex of monuments spanning different centuries, including both secular and sacred buildings, associated with defense as well as the daily lives of rulers and their courts. The Royal Castle became the main capital of the Polish state since the times of Casimir the Restorer. It has undergone multiple renovations and reconstructions. The main sacred building on Wawel Hill is the Cathedral dedicated to St. Wenceslaus and St. Stanislaus. Altered over the centuries, it has acquired a truly monumental appearance, filled with historical and religious traces of the rulers who once resided at Wawel. On the northern side of the cathedral stands the Sigismund Tower, where the largest bell in Poland, called "Sigismund," has hung since 1521. The hill is located a short distance from the Vistula River and is surrounded by high defensive walls with several smaller and larger towers visible. The Dragon's Den, imitating the dwelling place of the legendary Wawel Dragon, allows exploration of the interior of the thick defensive walls of the fortress and leads directly to a promenade along the Vistula. The artificial Wawel Dragon standing there eagerly demonstrates its ability to breathe fire.

The "Wieliczka" Salt Mine today represents both ancient tradition and modernity. It is the legacy of several generations of miners, a monument to the history of Poland and the Polish nation.
Znak firmowy kopalni należy do najstarszych na świecie. To tu po raz pierwszy zaczęto oznaczać wytwarzany produkt (sól) znakiem firmowym. Dotyczyło to soli pochodzącej z wyjątkowo białych pokładów, przeznaczonej na stoły królewskie, którą pakowano do beczek cechowanych orłem królewskim.
